Motherhood is full of questions, big and small. Here, we gently answer some of the most common things new mums ask, so you can feel supported and confident every step of the way.

  • Absolutely, we’ve definitely had those moments where we question everything. You’re not failing, you’re learning and that takes time.

  • You’re not spoiling them, you’re their safe place. After all, they’ve spent nine months being held every second of every day. It’s completely natural for them to crave that closeness. We know it’s exhausting, but this is a phase, it won’t last forever and before too long you’ll be craving those snuggles again!

  • You’re not alone, having a baby changes everything. Sleep, roles, emotions and intimacy to name a few. It takes time to find a new rhythm together. Open, honest conversations really help, as can asking for support where you need it. Carving out some small moments like sharing a hot drink together, laughing over something new you've discovered as parents or going for a short walk together whilst baby naps in the pram are all great ways of building the connection.

  • They don’t! Trust us, what you see on the outside (or what people choose to post) rarely shows the whole picture. We’ve all had meltdowns at some point!

  • It can be. Whilst some mums find it easy, others struggle. You’re not alone and whether you breastfeed, bottle feed, or both, fed is always best. Be sure to reach out for extra support if you need it.

  • It comes back gradually, in little pieces. Don’t get hung up on the myth of “bouncing back” as you won’t go back to the old you, but a stronger, wiser version of you is unfolding. We’re here to support this new version of you each step of the way with our Mama Toolkits.

  • You take a breath. You put them down safely. You ask for help. We've all had those nights when nothing seems to work, it doesn't make you a bad mum. Tomorrow will be a new day.

  • There’s no single “right” way to bond. Quiet moments, cuddles, eye contact, it's all connection. Your love shows up even when you're exhausted.

  • Mum guilt is real and heavy, but guilt isn’t a sign you’re doing it wrong. It’s a sign you care deeply.

  • We’ve been there. It’s not easy, but asking for help doesn’t mean you’re weak it means you’re human. Start small, with someone you trust. Even just saying “I’m not okay” is enough.
